We are ARC - Anna's Rescue Centre, a cat rescue and adoption centre, based in the Rumney area of Cardiff.

We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray, homeless and unwanted cats and kittens in to loving forever homes. We personally home check all adopters during the adoption process to make sure each forever home is suited to the individual cats needs and requirements. We neuter all adult cats that come in to our rescue, not only to help control the massive feral cat population in our community, but to ensure these cats can live out the rest of their lives in comfort and harmony.

Established in 2016, we have so far helped over 1,200 cats and kittens, and with your help, that number will increase every day.

What we do

RESCUE

Using modern, safe and humane equipment, we rescue cats and kittens that are often not accustomed to human contact. The cats can often be located in difficult to reach and sometimes potentially dangerous areas, so it's important that our team act professionally at all times and are aware of the hazards and dangers involved in rescuing.

REHABILITATE

We have an in-house cattery and an adoption centre, which temporarily house the cats and kittens in our care. Both locations are equipped to ensure the upmost in comfort, safety and security.

We are also extremely lucky to have a dedicated network of foster carers who provide temporary homes for some of the cats and kittens that come in to the rescue. This is useful when we have cats or kittens who have special requirements or who are not used to human interaction and need introducing to a household setting.

REHOME

Our ultimate aim for every cat that comes in to the rescue is to find them a loving, safe and comfortable forever home. There is usually a lot of interest in homing young kittens, but we work extra hard to find loving homes for the older cats in our care too, they are often just as cute, if not more so than their tiny counterparts!

EDUCATE

We work closely with our veterinary partners to educate people who come into contact with our rescue on the importance of neutering, for the health and wellbeing of all cats.

If we are unable to help ourselves, we work closely with other charities both locally and nationally, such as advertising the cats protection neutering scheme for people who need some help getting their own cats neutered.
